It’s hard to resist the siren song of Barrel Aged Awaken My Love from Creature Comforts. 

After all, this 13.7% ABV beast is one of their most popular Imperial Stouts — and now, they’ve barrel aged it for the first time!

We’re not talking just any old aging process, either — they dove deep into their barrel cellar to create a blend of four different Stouts for the base and aged the blend in a combination of Willett Bourbon and Rye barrels.

In partnership with their friends at 1,000 Faces Coffee, they added Colombian Los Ortega coffee beans, hand-selected and custom-roasted, for a robust, full-bodied flavor. 

Then, the brewers wove in Vietnamese cinnamon — a slightly sweet variety that balances the roasty coffee. 

Crack the tab, and breathe in the intoxicating scents of caramel, vanilla, and brown sugar. Take a sip, and let this Stout’s soft, decadent mouthfeel envelop your palate in rich chocolate, cinnamon, and freshly brewed java. There’s a whisper of smoky tobacco on the nose, and a gently lingering sweetness on the finish.
