Woven in Time - Barrel & Flow Fest
Allagash Brewing Company
A Note on This Beer
It’s practically impossible to talk about Northeast beer without including the legends at Allagash Brewing. These Maine brewers helped bring old world European styles to the American mainstream!
With such an appreciation for worldly brewing methods, they’re an ideal match with the folks at Sankofa Beer Co. Launched in 2018, this innovative D.C. crew has already earned national acclaim for inspired brews that reflect the founders’ West African roots.
Through today’s highly-limited release, the brewers deftly weave together their skills and influences. Is it any wonder they named the Dark Ale ‘Woven in Time?’
Millet (a popular West African grain) and smoked maple syrup whisk the taste buds away on a breakfast flight of earthy sweetness, and a slight hint of charred wood. Sip deeply for whispers of chocolate chip pancakes and dried fruit-topped cereal!
Stunningly drinkable, Woven in Time is equally at home at brunch or during late-night movie binges. But now’s the time to grab extra if you want to explore the brew’s range — it’s a one-off, brewed specially for Barrel & Flow Fest 2021!
*Barrel and Flow Fest is the nation’s first Black beer festival and USA Today’s #2 best beer festival in the nation. Outside of attending in-person, Tavour is one of the only places to get your hands on the beers brewed for it!
Tavour strictly supports independent beer. Allagash Brewing Company is certified independent by the Brewers Association

a bit of smoke in the nose but very little on the palate. I got zero sweetness of any kind let alone maple. a bland dark lager with a smoky scent. disappointing
Malty, smoky, nutty with maple.
A little smoky but I can't taste any maple
dark with light malt no maple and not much overall
Smokey, almost an overkill of smoke. not much sweetness, maybe a HINT of maple but it’s very subtle. very nutty. I expected better from allagash
smooth, smoky and quaffable.
Smokey, dark, smooth.
surprisingly good, not sweet, well balanced
almost like a stout with a little sweetness and smoke. I would buy this again
smokey just isn’t for me!
malty, Smokey sweet. mine had a can issue and had little to no carbonation as a result.
Dark, roasty, smoked with a touch of sweetness
Dark brown in color with beige head. Much lighter on the nose and flavor than expected. Slightly smoky in flavor with a basic ale back.
I don’t usually like dark ale, but I really enjoyed this. Flavors were mild which I preferred. Hint of smoke
A little smoky but not much maple. Still tasty.
Manufacturing issue. No carbonation.
