A Note on This Beer
Maybe it’s the heat and humidity, but there’s always something unexpected happening in Florida.
And today’s beer might just be the most surprising thing I’ve seen come from the state in a while: an award-winning, masterfully-crafted Belgian Quad!
That’s right, today’s West Floridian Belgian Abbey-Style Quadruple Ale hails from Ocala’s Infinite Aleworks, right smack dab in the center of the Sunshine State.
It might not be made by monks in Belgium, but it’s definitely everything a Quad should be: bold, chewy, and absolutely decadent!
With their focus on traditional brewing techniques, Infinite has been whipping up a craft-storm in their home state. They were named the Best Large-Batch Brewery in Florida at the Best Florida Beer Competition, where West Floridian also took home a gold medal for Belgian Quads!
Take a drink of this 10.5% ABV Quad and you’ll think you’re drinking in a cozy, dimly lit cafe in Brussels, eating a freshly baked Belgian Waffle topped with jammy, poached plums.
Luxurious aromas of dark fruits and bready Belgian yeast swirl from the dark crimson pour. Dry rye-spice appears on the first sip, making the booziness apparent on the palate. Rich notes of honey-drizzled figs and caramelized dates linger on the finish, complementing the slightly creamy, velvety mouthfeel.
Finding a gold-winning Belgian this good normally requires a week of brewery-hopping in Brussels, but we’ll save you the trip and bring today’s right to your door. One sip of this decadent delight and your palate will thank you for the beer-guided tour de Belgium with one of the best.
