Woodland Empire Ale Craft
A Note on This Beer
Imagine Willy Wonka created a beer using the same innovation that went into his three-course-meal chewing gum -- it would be a tasting adventure. We might not have Wonka but we do have Woodland Empire Ale Craft and the cherry pie splendor of their Upschitt Kriek.
This 16 month oak barrel-aged Lambic enters your nose as a corked top-shelf amaretto. In storms sweet-tart Montmorency cherries, warm crumbly pie crust, hints of cracked pepper, and memories of grandma pulling dessert from the oven.
It comes as no surprise that Woodland Empire consummated yet another beautiful Sour after the success of their Set ‘Em Wild, Set ‘Em Free Berliner Weissbier series. In this brand new limited release, they use the natural sour magic specific to Montmorency cherries to deliver a Kriek that marries tradition with the creative flair of a modern imagination.
Woodland Empire gives Crooked Stave’s Mama Bear’s Sour Cherry Pie a run for its money, bringing even more balance and drinkability to the dessert table. And Upschitt Kriek pulls off this scrumdiddlyumptious treat without even turning you into a fruit.
