Toasted Coconut Evasion (2020)
Taxman Brewing Company
A Note on This Beer
The Taxman Brewing team has GABF and World Beer Cup medals for many of their creations, but their award-winning, 4+ rated Evasion series is the crown jewel of them all.
And this year, Taxman released FIVE tasty Barrel-Aged Belgian Stout variants. These brews have some of the highest ABVs and most robust flavors we’ve seen in this small-batch series!
Be quick enough to grab today’s exceptional Evasion bundle, and here’s what you’ll get to brag about:
Evasion (2020) – BA Imperial Stout – 14% ABV
Formerly known as Death & Taxes, the original Evasion is the barrel-aged beauty that started it all.
Get a taste, and you’ll understand why its popularity is so enduring. Belgian artisan malts meld delectably with dark candi sugar in this rich sipper. Vanilla beans emphasize smooth caramel notes, while fresh Kentucky Bourbon barrel conditioning brings oaky robustness. The bottom of the glass comes all too quickly!
As @Kelvin K. says on Untappd: “This is the best Evasion I've had yet and they even upped ABV!... Pretty damn delicious.”

Cherry Vanilla Evasion (2020) – BA Imperial Stout – 14% ABV
Okay, all you cherry and chocolate fiends, this new Evasion variant is like a melty slice of Black Forest cake! With a side of oaky bourbon, that is! Early Untappd reviews show craft fans left downright speechless, like @Zach: “Ridiculous. 5 Stars.”
To get these flabbergasting flavors, Taxman conditioned the brew on loads of actual cherries and vanilla beans. Then, they aged it in bourbon barrels to amp up the dark chocolate undertones and boozy vibrancy. Better grab a fork!

Maple Vanilla Evasion (2020) – BA Imperial Stout – 14% ABV
Brewed with maple syrup from Head Brewer David Yancey’s family farm, this Evasion variant was then aged with Madagascar vanilla beans in hand-selected maple syrup barrels.
Last year’s version was named the Best Flavored Beer in the World at the 2019 World Beer Cup! ‘Nuff said.

Toasted Coconut Evasion (2020) – BA Imperial Stout – 14% ABV
Taxman flexes their flavor prowess with this toasted coconut-conditioned Evasion variant! It’s aged in spiced rum barrels for complex layers of woody vanilla, cinnamon and ginger spice, and drizzly caramel undertones. Creamy coconut comes through swiftly and smoothly on the finish.
Fans are already calling Toasted Coconut “the best of the 2020 Evasions” and, “this year’s winner.” But @Alex B. kicks it up a notch: “Crazy good. One of the more underrated stouts in Indiana!”
*Rated 4.21 from early reviews on Untappd
Cocoa Mint Evasion – BA Imperial Stout – 14% ABV
Are you missing those Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies already? Then this Evasion variant might be your favorite!
Craft fan @CJ P. hits the nail on the head with his description: “I am such a fan of Taxman’s Evasions. Best mint beer ever! Cocoa in front tapering to mint and lingers so nice. Bourbon kick throughout.”
Taxman conditions this one on real cacao nibs and mint, then rounds out its desserty complexity with a nap in bourbon barrels. Each sip is a dive into minty, dark chocolate heaven, with plenty of warmth to keep the bliss going for hours.
