The Slowest Drink at the Saddest Bar on the Sunniest Day in the Greatest City
Woodland Empire Ale Craft
A Note on This Beer
We got our hands on a beer that could kick off a new Idaho-style IPA category: Woodland Empire Ale Craft’s ‘Slowest Drink at the Saddest Bar on the Sunniest Day in the Greatest City.’ This IPA is big and hoppy like a West Coast-style IPA, but with a unique selection of hops that gives it an inland quirk. It dials in the pineapple, citrus, and pine of rarely-featured Denali Hops for a smooth and resinous tropical sipper.
With a 4.03 on Untappd, this IPA boasts a gregarious hop blend of Simcoe, Equinox, and Denali Hops for full fruity flavors and an earthy spice kick. Equinox Hops bring notes of lemon-lime citrus peels, ripe papaya, and a hint of green peppers dusted with herbs. Pine needle-crusted passion fruit flavors from Simcoe Hops deliver a smooth earthy character and Denali Hops amp up the tropical body with fresh-picked pineapple, honeydew melon, and a crisp bitter 75 IBU finish.
Distinctly Idaho-style with an all-the-flavors all-the-time attitude, this robust 7.2% ABV IPA is as complex as it is drinkable -- and it’s perfectly suited to launch a new beer trend.
