A Note on This Beer
With mastery of a wide variety of styles and internationally-sourced ingredients, everyone from NJ.com to the Washington Post calls Montclair Brewery’s creations “game changing.”
Today’s collab might just be among the most game-changing of them all! The Montclair folks teamed up with Mack Brewing — Philadelphia’s first Black-owned brewery with a big following of its own — to craft this distinctive Rauchbier.
Peat-smoked malt and roasted barley form a deeply complex, dark amber base, while a dose of brown sugar adds subtle sweetness. English East Kent Goldings Hops weave notes of mellow florals and whispers of earthy spice into this refined sipper.
It’s called Fumé, which very appropriately means “smoked.” Even with the notes of char in the base, the experience is incredibly smooth and lighthearted.
Before you start daydreaming about when you’re going to try it, take a note from early taster @Joseph G.: “This one’s really interesting. Deeply smokey. Wish I had another.”
Might want to stock up on extra of this limited-release beauty while you can!
This brew’s coolness goes beyond the taste! It’s a special collab done for Pittsburgh’s Barrel & Flow Fest — the first Black-owned brewery in the nation and USA Today’s #2 Beer Festival in America! This is your fast-pass to getting the beer without attending!
