A Note on This Beer
When Sour Beer fans seek out a brew that will plunge their tastebuds into a world of both tart and fruity, many turn to the California master of Barrel Aged Sours- Almanac Beer Company. Combining the pucker of an oak barrel aged Sour Blonde with a selection of freshly harvested tropical fruits in two of their newest releases, Almanac turned last summer into a medley of tropicality for many.
Our small reserve of Tangerine de Bretaville features California-grown tangerines and oranges, dry-hopped with Citra Hops. Balancing Brettanomyces funk with bright zest, this celebration of summer-kissed citrus is complexly layered, and still ultimately refreshing. Aged in oak barrels with a house blend of 12 Brett strains, the brewery layers in whole citrus fruits, adding both nectar-sweetness and rind bitterness. Citra Hops ramp up aroma and flavor with notes of tropical mandarins, grapefruit, and passion fruit.
Bringing Sour Fans the tropical flavors of the summer season, Almanac has always vowed discerning palates with their Sour expertise. Brettaville's will turn any patio gathering into a backyard soiree.
