Westbrook Brewing Company
A Note on This Beer
Justin Phillips, founder of New York craft beer institution Beer Table, asks the best brewers in the world to brew the one beer they would want to drink for the rest of their lives.
This year, Edward Westbrook, head brewer of top-rated Westbrook Brewing in South Carolina, was chosen to participate in Beer Table’s “Table Beer” series.
Westbrook has created over 100 different beers since they started in 2010, but they chose a classic Czech-style pilsner as their favorite beer.
Unfiltered and unrefined, the Westbrook Table Beer is true to the classic pilsner style, and tastes nothing like its typical American counterparts. Hazy and relatively full bodied, this beer can thank 100% pilsner malt for its nice, dry, cereals flavor. But the star of this simple pilsner is the crisp, spicy, dry-hopped finish that will win over even the most discerning palate. Drinkable and flavorful, it is easy to see why Westbrook imagined he could drink this beer every day.
Very rarely do we get the chance to see inside a brewer’s head and hear their perspective on drinking beer. This is an awesome opportunity to do so with a world-class brewer from a brewery that usually limits distribution to the East Coast.
This is the first “Table Beer” in about a year, and we are thrilled to have a few cases of this limited release.
