Grimm Artisanal Ales
A Note on This Beer
Brooklyn’s husband-and-wife brewing team, Grimm Artisanal Ales, has taken the craft scene by storm – their single-batch, limited release brews sell out within an hour of hitting the shelves! When we heard they were about to release their newest Imperial Stout, we were first in line to snag a taste of Sumi Cacao, their 10.2% ABV dark chocolate delight.
With rave reviews and a 4.1 on Untappd, Sumi Cacao has inspired Untappd users like @elCapitano to call Grimm “officially my favorite new discovery.” As an indulgent dessert with rich layers of chocolate and vanilla, Sumi Cacao makes us glad we discovered what Grimm is all about, too.
Aromas of raspberry sauce drizzled over chocolate cake fill your palate before taking a dive into its dark chocolatey depths. Mocha espresso notes and a hint of black currants swirl in a sea of silky chocolate mousse, with its boozy 10.2% ABV riding along smooth waves of vanilla. Cacao’s tangy, woody side makes a guest appearance before it ends with a clean, roasty finish.
Featured in Draft Magazine as one of the 25 Breweries to Watch in 2016, it seems like just about everyone wants a slice of Grimm’s pie – and Sumi Cacao serves up a deliciously dark and decadent serving.
For optimal sipping, the brewers recommend serving at 50-55 degrees Fahrenheit.
