A Note on This Beer
It’s spring here, but it’s fall in New Zealand and for discerning beer fans this means one thing: they’ve got fresh hops down under!
Forever committed to bringing us the best hop flavors, Sierra Nevada flew hops direct from New Zealand to their brewery FRESH and fast to create their Southern Hemisphere Harvest IPA.
Hops from New Zealand make up only 10% of all hops produced in the world and are notoriously hard to obtain. Fresh New Zealand hops are near impossible. Sierra Nevada is only able to obtain these coveted hops from the deep connections with hop producers they’ve forged over years as a premier brewer of hoppy beers.
New Zealand hops have been lighting up the craft scene with their novel flavors. Now with Southern Hemisphere IPA you can experience them in their freshest incarnations. Southern Cross Hops resemble lemon peel pine needles. Moteuka Hops pair lime and tropical fruit. While Pacifica Hops complete the hoppy bouquet with floral notes.
Southern Hemisphere Harvest shines a bright red gold. Aromas of limes and pines are accompanied by a touch of brown sugar and wheat and the faint fragrance of gardenias. Sipping yields controlled and substantial bitterness of a slice of grapefruit peel. The spicy kick of freshly milled coriander and white pepper give Southern Hemisphere an exotic edge that lasts all the way to the end.
Sierra Nevada has always defined the craft hops scene, lifting Cascade Hops into prominence at the dawn of craft - follow with them as they forge into new territory, bringing us the freshest possible taste of New Zealand’s unique hops in Southern Hemisphere Harvest IPA!
