A Note on This Beer
It takes 18 months of Barrel-Aging in French Oak Rosé Barrels with two types of Brettanomyces and Dry Hopping with Nelson Sauvin (elements we’ve never seen together before) to create the extremely limited Surf Brewery C-02 Blonde Ale.
Draft Magazine received a sneak tasting of the fruity funked-up C-02 and enjoyed it so much they featured it in their Best Beers of The Week. Their thoughts: “Each sip calls for another drop-in to track the undulating flavors.”
C-02 produces exquisite white wine and pear on the nose. Juicy nectarines coddle the Nelson Sauvin’s earthy herbal notes. White grapes and funk finish with a dry oaky conclusion.
The brew-scientists at Surf have formulated a way to bottle up that bright Ventura, California Sunshine-- it’s now available as C-02 Oak Rosé Barrel-Aged Dry Hopped Nelson Sauvin Blonde.
