A Note on This Beer
Hopheads, lean in a little closer -- you’re gonna get real personal with one of craft’s most tropical-soaked hops imaginable: Zythos.
Like a Caribbean dream straight off the hopvine, Zythos Hops bring crushed pineapple aromas, brisk pine sap flavors, and even hints of guava - and now they’re cruising through your palate on a refreshing ride in Capital Brewery’s Mutiny IPA.
Mutiny delivers a fruity hop combo of Zythos joining grapefruity Simcoe, spicy Cascade, and the resin bite of Warrior Hops to book your palate passage to an island of hoppy dreams. Zythos makes its pineapple message loud and clear from the start, sizzling with caramelized fruit tones, and herbal papaya nectar. The mouthfeel brings juiciness at first, then slides into slick resin amplified with hints of clove. Despite the rich hop character, this crushable fruitiness finishes light, making a 6 pack of this IPA downright necessary.
Capital is a Wisconsin craft beer institution, winning over 20 GABF awards before making Mutiny -- their very first IPA. Over 50 barrels were tapped out at a local Memorial Day Brat Fest, and it’s one of the official beers of this year’s PGA US Open, making this Zythos-infused brew a mainstay for summer in their home state and beyond.
