Gigantic Brewing Company
A Note on This Beer
When I first heard that Portland’s medal-draped Gigantic was teaming up with Seattle’s constantly packed Holy Mountain, I got so excited I almost wet my pants.
I’m not proud of it. It’s just what happened.
Then I had to wait and wait for what seemed like an eternity for the beer to actually get here. Today, it finally arrived.
This is the 7.5% ABV Maximum Comfort IPA, a juiced up New England Style Hazy from two of the Northwest’s finest! The multi-time World Beer Cup Winning Gigantic is a must visit whenever I’m in Oregon, and Holy Mountain’s cavernous taproom is one of my favorite spots to grab a pint. The Seattle Times even called them “The best and most exciting brewery in Washington.”
And now they’ve come together in a glorious cataclysm of Pacific Northwest hop expertise! Every time I think about it, I wanna jump out of my chair and run around in circles like an excited puppy! Get yourself a bottle, and you’ll understand what I’m talking about.
Just don’t wait too long. Other than the tiny stash of bottles we’ve secured, none of this juice is leaving left coast, and our little supply won’t last long.
Grab this opportunity to taste two titans of PNW craft while you can!
The two breweries created today’s juicebomb with what they describe as “irresponsible amounts of Amarillo and Cascade Hops.” And I’m grateful for that lack of responsibility, because this thick bodied hazy absolutely gushes with juicy orange, tropical pineapple, and pithy grapefruit. On the finish, waves of resinous pine from the Cascade Hops inundate the palate, leaving no doubt that this brew was crafted right here in the Northwest.
If you’re a fan of either of these breweries, you absolutely CANNOT miss this opportunity to taste what happens when they combine forces. If you’re not familiar with these two craft powerhouses, I can’t think of a better introduction than Maximum Comfort.
