A Note on This Beer
Allagash Brewing Company is one of the most influential independent breweries in America - they were one of the first to focus on Belgian brewing expertise and have earned 16 GABF medals for their highly acclaimed brews.
Now they’re sharing a unique brew that’s a personal after-work favorite of the Allagash team that could launch the next big trend in Belgian Ales. They use their award-winning Brett strain in Little Brett Ale, a limited release with fruity wild character and a single malt, single hop focus.
For an unadulterated taste of Allagash’s signature flavors, they make Little Brett with their house strain of 100% Brettanomyces yeast along with their proprietary blend of 2-Row Barley Malts. Pairing Mosaic Hops with fruity Brett amplifies its tropical citrus notes even more.
Mosaic dry-hopping brings a hint of minty herbs and wild blueberries in the aroma and a burst of tangerines at first sip. Bright pineapple and fresh papaya tumble forward from even more Mosaic Hops, mingling with dusty lemons and a touch of funk from the Brett. Tropical juiciness ends with a mildly tart grapefruit peel finish.
Wild Ales have roots in Belgian brewing, so it only makes sense that one of the most renowned Belgian breweries in America is bringing back the Brett to claim even more Belgian authenticity. Sip on this elegant tropical brew right away, or cellar it for up to 6 months to taste how the wild fruit flavors develop over time.
