A Note on This Beer
I just read a crazy story about today’s Little Blue Penguin IPA from Fat Cat Brewing and couldn’t resist sharing:
“A collection of Little Blue Penguin cans are missing from the owner’s stash after friends broke into his fridge late last night. The Department of Craft Friends Stealing Craft Beer (DOCFSCB) reported a potential small-batch smuggling, saying these coveted cans are rarely found outside a few select Northeastern states.
Officials suspect the 7.7% ABV Penguins were most likely taken by close friends, maybe even bottleshare buddies, who wanted a sip of the hazy brew’s New Zealand-grown Nelson Sauvin and Motueka Hops.
Brewed with white grape juice, it’s assumed Little Blue Penguins’ bursting flavors of lush, tropical notes and sweet, alluring aroma of sweet satsuma orange peel motivated the suspects in committing the heist.”
Ok, maybe this story isn't entirely true. But with today’s highly-rated Little Blue Penguin being a seasonal, small-batch brew, I can totally picture my friends committing this juicy smuggle!
While your drinking buds might not go to the extremes of cracking the code on your beer fridge to snag Little Blue Penguin, it might be a good idea to have a few extra cans stored in a secret spot. You know, just in case.
