A Note on This Beer
Girl: Polly, want a cracker?
Parrot: No, Polly doesn’t want a cracker; Polly wants a beer. Polly wants a goddamn IPA! Polly wants to soak her feathers in freaking Citra.
Sometimes instead of having a little birdie whispering in your ear, you have a two-foot rude parrot with a hop fetish. Such is the case with today’s beer.
7 Seas Brewing’s Rude Parrot IPA is a Washington favorite chock full of noisy hop flavor. Juicy Citra Hop notes of melon, lime and grapefruit ride a bittering edge of Nugget Hops into a resinous finish.
Described as “loud, sassy and relentless,” Rude Parrot transformed from a seasonal release into a year round brewery favorite. And despite established local acclaim, fans respond to it with the energy of a brand new release – they drained keg after keg of the stuff at this summer’s Washington Brewer’s Festival.
To adapt to the crowds that flock to the brewery for their delicious, innovative beers 7 Seas just opened a new taproom in Gig Harbor, WA. Rude Parrot remains one of their biggest draws.
Maybe it’s the direct, straight up IPA flavor that speaks so strongly to Northwest craft beer drinkers. Of course, as the parrot will tell you, the value is pretty hard to ignore.
Parrot: $6.99? $6.99! Ditch my perch, chuck the feed, fill the cage to the top – I’ll beak my way in.
