A Note on This Beer
Breakside Brewery’s flagship IPA is the kind of brew that makes hoppy dreams come true - whenever it’s available.
Winning GABF Gold in the festival’s most competitive category, this beer’s nectarous, piney flow of Northwest hops has made it an impossible find outside of Oregon.
Though it’s the brewery’s flagship, massive local fanfare leads to chronic shortages - and any chance we have to bring some across state lines is an opportunity we don’t pass up.
The reason behind the hop-driven madness is Breakside’s impeccable hop architecture. Brewmaster Ben Edmonds harnesses Citra and Chinook Hops as keystones, bringing lemon zest aromas and herbal pine dominance. Falconer’s Flight Hops complement the citrus with a dense tropical nose full of guavas and mangoes. Lingering through the finish with 74 IBUs of coniferous bitterness, Columbus Hops deliver a clean, sharp resin.
Ask any Oregonian hophead what their top 5 IPAs are and you’ll find Breakside’s IPA always makes the list. Even going a week without its infusion of evergreen and citrus hoppiness is far too long a wait - but its rarity makes this an unfortunate reality. We suggest stocking up on this while you can!
