A Note on This Beer
Hop fans could barely contain their excitement when Green Flash acquired Alpine Beer Company, anticipating the tasty fruits to come from the union of two West Coast IPA kings. Now a year later, the community will finally get its first sip of this long awaited collaboration: Hand Shake IPA.
As the first co-brew from the two, the mandatory stamp of San Diego hop character hits the palate with juicy citrus and fresh earthy notes.
Hand Shake unites hops and malts in a luscious IPA that has just a hint of sweetness, and plenty of hoppy bitterness. Simcoe and Mosaic Hops deliver dank notes of orange rind. Citra Hops supply zesty grapefruit flavor and El Dorado Hops give bright grassy flavor. A peppery bitter and quenchable finish lingers on the tongue, teasing at the taste of the next sip.
A mutually beneficial partnership rather than corporate takeover, both Green Flash and Alpine have continued to brew their own respective beers since the union. Both brewing teams have great admiration for one another, seeing the union as an extension of their brewing friendship. After tasting the hoppy bounty of this collaborative effort, you’ll look forward to a delicious future ahead.
