Trap Door Brewing
A Note on This Beer
The 3x Washington Beer Award-winning crew at Trap Door Brewing have done it!
This family brew crew blows our noggins every time they tackle a different beer style. First, they proved their Sour mastery. Then came an expertly-crafted Lager, followed by a bevy of lush IPAs and some seriously thick-as-a-mother Stouts.
And now, with today’s brand-new Barrel-Aged Belgian Quad, they prove they really can do it all!
Let’s be clear — this style is no easy feat. Quads should be dark amber in color and malty, with just the right amount of caramel and brown sugar undertones, though many toe the line of being too sweet. Barrel-aging ups the risk ante, as the wrong cask choice can overwhelm the brew’s existing flavors.
But Trap Door’s masterfully-crafted Gabriel’s Horn hits all the marks.
This 12% ABV BA Belgian Quad seems to warm the body right from the first caramel-touched sip. Aged in Westward Whiskey oak spirit casks, this dark liquid is rounded out with whispers of bourbon, rum, and a surprising touch of pinot noir.
And we’re not the only ones tooting Gabriel’s Horn! All of the early reviews are 4+, and the comments make this brew’s winning status clear:
“I. Can’t. Even. This is f’ing amazing!!” @Kari N., Untappd
“Bam!” @Mike D., Untappd
But just because this beer’s brand new doesn’t mean it’s gonna wait around long. This is a limited run from Trap Door, so grab your stash and go spread the good news among your friends — you got your hands on a boozed-up BA Belgian Quad done right!
