A Note on This Beer
Cranberries are a Sour Ale’s BFF (best fruit friend). While most Fruit Sours start with sweet juices that need Souring agents like Lacto or Sacc in order to turn up the tartness, cranberries were born ready for their Sour Ale destiny.
MobCraft Beer’s Existence Cranberry is one of only a small number of beers to really capitalize on the tart berry’s delicious utility in Sour Ales. Not only is this 10% ABV boozy tart-barbarian the beer that started the brewery’s Wild Ale and Sour program, it’s also the tangy gem that won them a Gold Medal in the Copa De Cervasas Americans.
Existence Cranberry is Aged for 10 months in French and American Oak -- gracefully transporting woody vanilla bean notes from the barrels. Gratuitous amounts of mouth-puckering cranberries are hand-sorted (can you imagine?!) from a local farm in Wisconsin, loaded into buckets and hit with a giant blender on a stick (technical terms). MobCraft then uses Belgian Yeast to provide musty, oaky, red wine-like complexity similar to a Flanders Red.
Juicy Cranberry Sours are a hard sub-style to come by. Today we find one that exceeds our fruity expectations, the only problem is there’s only 438 bottles in existence. Snag one now, while you have the chance. Don’t blow it.
*Best enjoyed served between 48 - 52 degrees Fahrenheit.
