Earl of Granate
The Rare Barrel
A Note on This Beer
Few things will make you feel more blue-blooded than drinking a hard-to-find beer from California’s renowned The Rare Barrel.
These barrel-aging masters continuously win awards for their funky Sour Ales — medals from the Great American Beer Fest, the Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beer, and the World Beer Cup all adorn The Rare Barrel’s trophy case!
The thing is, their brews almost never leave California.
Getting your hands on one of their juicy Sours is akin to receiving the royal treatment, which we’re pretty sure you could probably use right now. So, we wrangled away a stash of their bright and floral summertime sipper: Earl of Granate!
The Rare Barrel crafts this delightfully herbaceous Golden Sour Ale by first aging it in oak barrels with real pomegranate for 18 months. Then, they gently steep the beer in calming Earl Grey tea, lending a robust earthiness that complements the pomegranate’s floral notes and bright juiciness.
This tart and thirst-quenching libation is almost so delicate that you’ll want to flip out your pinky everytime you pick up the glass. And because it’s The Rare Barrel, it’d be totally acceptable!
So go ahead and stash a bottle or two into your crate. Then, when that box shows up at your door, don your velvet robe, find a comfy spot with some sunshine, and start drinking like royalty.
