A Note on This Beer
It’s that time of year: the leaves are changing colors signaling it’s officially cider season. And there’s extra excitement in the air because Double Mountain, famous for their utilization of local fruit (i.e., Devil’s Kriek & Peche Mode) has just released their 6.7% ABV Dry Cider --A taproom favorite that’s bottling up these Autumn apple flavors for the first time.
And here’s the kicker: the locally grown Newtons and Old World cider apples they source from Double Mountain Orchard happen to be some of the highest quality in the country. Their unique Hood River, Oregon location also provides another special ingredient -- pure and clean glacial water from Mt. Hood.
This delicious cider is the result of using high quality local ingredients and keeping the process simple -- pressing and fermenting apples on their house yeast strain. Then giving it plenty of time to dry and develop fruity aromas of lychee and green anjou pears. Subtly sweet-tart apples and green fruit splash the pallet quickly then finish crisp and dry.
After tasting this Dry Cider we’ve hopped on-board with Double Mountain’s cider mantra and believe you will be too: "Like our beer, we make cider how we want to drink it--crisp, dry, and refreshing.”– Jen House, Double Mountain Brewer.
