A Note on This Beer
Ever have one of those moments when something amazing happens, and you’re like, “why wasn’t I doing this all along? What have I been doing with my life?”
I’ve had three of those moments already with today’s Decadent Delight #2 Imperial Pastry Stout. After this roller coaster of exciting emotions, I won’t be surprised if it happens again — check this out:
First, Decadent Ales are dessert beer masters, but for a long time, I only tasted their patisserie-like brewing skills in sweet treat inspired IPAs. But then they started this new Decadent Delight series, and a light bulb went off in my head when I tried the first one — why haven’t they been making Pastry Stouts all along?!
Next, today’s Delight #2 is a collaboration with indulgent Dark Beer masters at Evil Twin. Evil Twin has a reputation for teaming up with some of the best dessert beer makers in the world like Trillium, Prairie, and Westbrook! It’s baffling that they hadn’t joined forces with Decadent until recently.
And finally, the crave-worthy... scratch that, crave-INDUCING flavor combo in today’s 11.7% ABV brew blew me away as well. Only once before have I tasted a Stout made with peanut butter AND marshmallows — that was in Mother Earth’s adored 4Seasons series. When we tried that beer, I was appalled that no other breweries were creating this specialty.
Then I tasted the ooey-gooey peanut butter smeared s’mores flavors in Delight #2. And now I’m up on my soapbox, megaphone in hand, urging more breweries to try today’s beer, and see if they can make anything even close to it!
