Darkest Hour Aged in Whiskey Barrels
Anchorage Brewing Company
A Note on This Beer
Anchorage’s A Deal With The Devil made Tavour history -- that's right, the fan traffic this beer generated was so immense it literally broke our app. Ever since then fans have been emailing us, pleading for another Anchorage whale. Well today it's here and we're the only ones who have it!
Bring on the stampede for Darkest Hour, a barrel-aged Imperial Stout that’s been swimming in whiskey barrels for over 12 months and infused with coffee and cascara. Fans rate this gem a 4.49 on Untappd and it’d probably be higher if more people could get their hands on it.
Darkest Hour spends an entire year in whiskey barrels -- as such, it pours jet black and bursts with big aromas of roasted malts and fresh whiskey. A chewy Stout body as thick as motor oil delivers rich dark chocolate and a touch of roasted coffee flavor. This luscious thickness is mixed with notes of ripe red fruit, thanks to the addition of both coffee and cascara, the cherry fruit that surrounds coffee beans.
Barrel-aged beers like this instantly double the value of your collection -- but their scarcity mean few people ever get to try them. That's why we're working directly with Anchorage to help make Darkest Hour accessible to everyone. Dive in, this collector’s item will not only coat the inside of your glass, it will coat your palate and your memory for long lasting, boozy moments to come.
