Bourbon Barrel Aged Padishah Imperial Stout
A Note on This Beer
Every December, Milwaukee’s MobCraft Beer hosts their annual Stout Fest, a celebration of dark and decadent sippers. The event offers craft fans some cool merch and the ability to try a range of luscious Stouts — but, there’s no mistaking the real reason the event is so popular:
The brewers’ annual Bourbon Barrel Aged Padishah Imperial Stout release!
Stout Fest marks one of the few shots many local craft fans will get to taste this ultra-indulgent boozebomb. This year’s event is a little different, with virtual components and social distancing in place, but the spirit surrounding Padishah remains strong. And now, you get to be one of the first — and few — tasters outside of the region!
This staggering 11% ABV brew delights the palate with notes of oak, vanilla, and molasses from aging in acclaimed Heaven Hill bourbon barrels.
Plus, with all the dark malts the brewers used, it tastes like a molten chocolate lava cake drizzled all over in whiskey! No wonder the brewers saved this release for winter — every sip is a shot of warmth that goes from tongue to toe.
In 2019 alone, MobCraft won gold medals at both the Great American Beer Festival and the Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beers!

A little on the lighter for a 11% and molasses. Enjoyed the full bodied flavor from start to finish.
Fig & Leather !
Fantastic. Well made stout. Hits all the right notes and well balanced
Wanted more barrel
Great BA for a can
Smooth flavors of bourbon up front followed by roasted malts, dark fruits and char. Mouthfeel is on the thick side with soft warming after the sip. Reminds me a lot of Bourbon County Stout before 2015. Note to brewery: keep buying Heaven Hill barrels!!
Smooth, no bite! Great stout. Wish for more barrel notes
Solid but not spectacular.
A decent stout
Distinct sour note that's discordant with the rest of the beer. Watery for 11%, with minimal bourbon character. Reminiscent of the Bruery's "bakery" pastry stouts
Another solid one from these guys, boozy but drinkable and not too heavy.
I’m gonna give it 5 stars because I hate stouts and everybody I know hates stouts but I decided to try a chocolate stout because I had never tried one, and everybody who tried it thought that it was very different and at least “decent”. Normally, you couldn’t pay us to drink a stout!
For me, the aroma when opening was very boozy. Prominent notes of oak barrels & good undertones of whiskey. Mouthfeel definitely had the sweetness of molasses and a little stickiness almost.
Pretty decent. Didn’t come through with the bourbon BA tastes that I was expecting. Very drinkable, and not as heavy as you’d expect from a BA stout.
Straightforward, solid beer. Rich and smooth flavor. Light feel for an 11%
