A Note on This Beer
Unless you’ve visited one of the few specialty blenderies in the world, you probably haven’t tasted a Meerts Fruited Sour.
But, today’s your chance to change that.
Black Currant Meerts is similar to a Lambic, born from spontaneous fermentation. But what sets Meerts beers apart is that they’re lighter in body and even more refreshing (with slightly lower carbonation).
Today’s brew is also aged on black currants for two months. Each sip breathes surprisingly clean, smooth notes of citrus and airy barnyard funk, while the berries make for hints of easygoing berry tartness. A delectable quencher!
And it’s extra exciting, because it’s one of the very first beers we’ve ever had on Tavour from Wisconsin’s Funk Factory Geuzeria. With a 4.13 UT Brewery rating, they’re one of the highest-rated microbreweries in the Midwest!
This blendery team focuses entirely on Wild and Sour styles, and they keep their batches small, for precision. Only very lucky Midwesterners usually get a taste.
Now, you can make that “only very lucky Tavour members,” because we only have 130 bottles to go around. Grab it quick for a taste of the rare Meerts style!
