A Note on This Beer
Hidden Hops: Big fruit aromas and tastes from Mosaic Hops swirl inside this unassuming can, while rarely-seen German Green Ghost Hops add tropical complexity. Flabbergasting Flavors: One taste, and you’ll be tempted to suck down the whole thing on the spot. This Imperial IPA drips with flavors of melon, papaya, peach, passionfruit, and just about every citrus fruit you can think of!
If you saw today’s can on a store shelf, you’d probably keep walking. I mean, look at it — it’s a plain label that just says “Beer.”
And Chicago locals wouldn’t have it any other way. How else would they keep this succulently juicy 8% ABV haze all to themselves?
‘Cause it’s getting tougher to keep Marz Community Brewing under wraps. Thanks to their penchant for big, flavorful brews, this Southside gem’s been labeled a “Must-try” by everyone from Milwaukee Magazine to Timeout — even Thrillist!
If folks find out there are extra stone fruity, orangey, and lemon zest-tastic flavors bursting from the rare German Hops in this inconspicuous can, well, there might not be enough left for the thirsty neighborhood!
So that’s why we snuck into Chi-town and met around the back of Marz’s taproom. A couple handshakes later, and we secretly arranged for a small supply to go just to Tavour members.
But be careful if you choose to crack it open in front of others. ‘Cause the tropical aromas in this Imperial IPA are so powerful, it’s like holding a bountiful jungle in your hand. If others get a whiff, they’re gonna ask where all the fresh-cut fruit is.
And then you’re gonna have to share your stash, and they’re gonna tell all their friends, and it’s gonna turn into this whole big thing. So, do as the Chicagoans do. Just act like this is some generic beer that isn’t actually dripping in lush flavor. Nothin’ wrong with keeping a great beer all to yourself!
