Barrel Aged Libertine
A Note on This Beer
Their flagship Imperial Red Ale put GABF medalists Fulton Beer on the craft beer map, and now the Minneapolis brewers are taking it to the barrel. Aged 12 months in fresh bourbon barrels, the new limited-edition Barrel-Aged Libertine Imperial Red Ale creates a rich rye cocktail of refinement, with a boozy dark cherry on top.
At 8.5% ABV, Libertine’s sweet amber body makes way for flavors of vanilla toffee decadence from roasted malts. The bourbon barrels infuse a toasted layer of booze-soaked oak with smooth brown sugar, mingling on the palate with notes of spicy fig jam, a touch of blackberry syrup, and a dash of earthy bitters -- like a new take on an Old Fashioned.
Fulton brewed only 4,000 bottles of this spirited Barrel-Aged delight, and the time is right to sip this spiked rye caramel treat without restraint. With Barrel-Aged Libertine Imperial Red Ale, you don’t have to choose between beer and bourbon -- this brew’s got you covered on both.
