i’m only giving it a sub-5 because it was a bit too much vanilla and not enough of that classic BIL flavor but the fact i even got to try this is crazy
375 bottle at share. wow! This is really a gem. Luscious from start to finish. Dark, oily pour, ring of beige head. Sweet, boozy aroma. Rich dark, malty flavors, heady bourbon flavors, topped off with some sweet vanilla. This was truly excellent.
Coffee vanilla oak
Fan-fucking-tastic, probably over hyped and overpriced, but I don't care! 17%!
Bourbon and chocolate
Just the F’ing gold standard in Barleywine
Smoothest 17% ever. The vanilla hides most of the heat. The vanilla bean is balanced nicely where it isn't overpowering. Nice mouthfeel almost more like a stout than a BW.
Wow wow wow. I rarely rate things 5. This is a rare gem; smooth nose, rich oaky undertone, with a nice bittersweet chocolate bite. The vanilla comes in and just smooths it all over. I enjoyed every sip. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Hell yes.
Excellent barleywine! The vanilla is evident briefly until the barrel character squashes it with authority!
You are in for one hell of a brew.
Tons of vanilla, tons of barrel, very little alcohol burn. Absolutely phenomenal beer!
Vanilla and sweetness!
One of the best beers ever!
What can I say amazing, deserves it's spot at #1
Leans heavily onto the vanilla.
Better than triple for me, I really enjoyed it
best barleywine I’ve ever had
